Year-round many options are available along the beautiful waters of the Neuse and surrounding areas. From fishing to shrimping to plain ol’ joyriding, we can provide a day of fun and relaxation that can only be found on the water. Full day trips have the option of going as far as Ocracoke, weather permitting. Don’t like going across the sound or get a little seasick? No worries, us locals know a back way! All trips include one light meal, snacks and drinks.
Appreciate a true fishing trip, where all you have to do is hop on the boat. We provide all bait and tackle. Depending on the season, local catch includes flounder, puppy drum, red drum, striper, speckled trout and many more. The catch is yours to keep and we will even clean it for you.
Fishing not your thing? No worries! Come unwind with no worries. Revel in having the wind in your hair while wandering about the nearby waters of Oriental, Dawson’s Creek and Minnesott or travel as far as New Bern, Beaufort or Ocracoke! If you want to enjoy time in one of these lovely towns with your guests and we will come back and pick you up. These towns take on a whole new view when visited from the water.
Shrimping and Crabbing
From the months of June through September, trawling for shrimp is a local favorite. Enjoy the evening sunset on the boat while also experiencing a favorite past time. All shrimp caught are yours to keep! Free shrimp heading included.
Want to know what it’s like to net fish or go crabbing. We will take you out for a day and show you how to throw cast nets, gill nets and crab pots. Get to experience what it’s like to be a true fisherman.

Fishing in North Carolina
We offer trips Monday through Saturday. You will have the options of hunting in a stake blind or on one of our custom layout boats. Groups of up to four can be accommodated. Larger parties can be accomodated with advanced notice. We provide all decoys, blinds, stands and offer cleaning and disposal services as well.
From the Blind
Expect to shoot a variety of ducks including blue bills, buffleheads, redheads, canvasbacks and the possibility of many others. We also offer the change to hunt puddleducks and black ducks, weather permitting. Each morning of hunting will include a hearty breakfast in blind or on shore, weather permitting.
From the Boat
Sea duck hunting is a special hunt where you will have the opportunity to shoot common scoter, surf scoter, old squaw and white wing scoter just to name a few. This hunt offers breakfast as well, if weather permits.
$200 per person until 1 pm. Add $75 person past 1pm.
What to Bring
- Proper hunting license, stamps, etc.
- Legal guns (check plugs)

- Waders (preferably chest high)

Need to Know
All hunts will comply with all rules and regulations mandated by NC Wildlife Resources Commission and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
NC Waterfowl Hunts require: Valid NC Hunting License, NC Wildlife Privilege, HIP certification and Federal Duck Stamp. All must be on person while hunting.
All trips need to be reserved by telephone or email. After you have booked a trip, please know that you are responsible for the following:
- Visit both the NC Wildlife and (if necessary) the US Fish and Wildlife websites. Please review and be in compliance with all requirements. This applies to all fishing and hunting trips.
- Please review our liability waiver.
- 50% deposit is required within two weeks of reservation and second half on last day of trip. Only certified check or cash will be accepted.
All trips leave from 1076 Paradise Shores Road, Merritt, NC which is a 10-15 minute drive from either Bayboro or Oriental. If advance notice is given, we can make dockside pickup arrangements for boating trips leaving from Oriental.

Any trip needing to be cancelled must give at least a two week notice or risk losing deposit. Any trip that is cancelled due to weather will have their deposit refunded if unable to reschedule.
